A beautiful matching pair of vintage Henkel Harris Virginia Galleries bedside cabinets, crafted in Winchester, Virginia from genuine mahogany.
Dating to 1976, these substantial cabinets showcase the quality construction and traditional American craftsmanship for which Henkel-Harris is known. Each retains its original Virginia Galleries by Henkel-Harris markings, including the manufacturer's genuine mahogany label identifying the wood as mahogany sourced from Africa and South America.
Each cabinet features a spacious upper drawer fitted with classic brass bail pulls, with a pair of raised panel cabinet doors below. The gracefully shaped upper panels, molded edges, bracket base, and warm mahogany finish give the pair a handsome Georgian / Colonial Revival character. Decorative brass escutcheon hardware on the cabinet doors complements the original brass drawer pulls beautifully.
Behind the double doors is generous enclosed storage with two tiers of interior shelving, making these especially functional as nightstands or bedside cabinets. Their wider cabinet proportions also make them suitable as end tables or small storage cabinets in a living room, library, or study. The pair has a wonderfully classic look that works especially well in traditional, Colonial, Georgian, English country, Ralph Lauren-inspired, or collected interiors.
Both pieces retain Henkel-Harris/Virginia Galleries identification. One label identifies Style No. 114 and Finish No. 29, along with genuine mahogany construction. Henkel Harris furniture from the Virginia Galleries line was made in Winchester, Virginia and is well regarded for its quality materials and traditional furniture construction.
The table is in excellent original condition with very minimal signs of wear; very minor surface scratches / nicks, one of the tables tabletops has a scratch near the back edge - see pics.
