A beautiful antique two drawer table dating to the late 19th century, featuring wonderfully decorative spool turned legs and a matching turned stretcher that give the piece an unmistakable Victorian era presence.
The table is constructed in a compact trestle form with four dramatically turned supports rising from carved shaped feet and joined by a substantial turned center stretcher. The two full width drawers, the top offering a variety of small built in compartments, retain their simple round large wooden knobs and individual keyholes, while the drawer fronts display especially attractive and unique figured wood grain that comes alive in the light.
One of our favorite details is the contrast between the richly figured drawer fronts and the solid oak top, whose pronounced grain adds another layer of character to the piece. The drawer construction also features hand cut dovetail joinery, further reflecting traditional furniture making methods.
Its narrow proportions make this an exceptionally versatile antique. It would be beautiful used as a small writing table, entryway or hall table, oversized side table, bedside table, small desk, or accent table in a historic or traditionally styled interior.
The table retains the irregularities and evidence of age expected from a genuine antique, including surface wear, old marks, variations in the finish, and other character acquired through generations of use. These details contribute to its wonderfully timeworn appearance rather than detract from it.

The table is in great original condition with very minimal signs of wear; minor nicks/flaws, 4 wood pegs plug screw holes on the tabletop, a dark colored finish variation patch on the right side - see pics. A satin polyurethane topcoat has been applied throughout to protect and preserve the original finish.
