A beautiful mid 19th century antique mahogany cabinet featuring richly figured wood, a substantial marble top, and petite brass casters. Dating to approximately 1840–1855, this piece has been carefully restored while preserving the age, character, and craftsmanship that make it so special.
The cabinet features a single upper drawer above two doors with striking flame mahogany panels. Applied twisted rope molding frames each door front, adding beautiful texture and architectural detail. Both the drawer and cabinet doors feature charming skeleton key pulls used as handles, an unusual detail that adds to the cabinet's antique character.
Behind the double doors is a spacious storage compartment with an interior shelf, making this petite cabinet as functional as it is decorative. The light colored marble top provides a beautiful contrast against the warm mahogany and retains natural veining, coloration, and age related character.
The cabinet rests on four small brass casters and displays traditional antique construction throughout, including an old plank back and hand cut drawer joinery. Its petite proportions make it especially versatile for use as an entryway cabinet, oversized nightstand, small server, bar cabinet, bathroom vanity or statement storage piece.
This is a genuine antique that has been refinished rather than newly manufactured. Age-related wear, old repairs, variations in the wood, and other imperfections remain throughout and are consistent with its approximately 165+ years of history. A satin polyurethane topcoat has been applied throughout to protect and preserve the original finish.
