A beautiful antique Victorian walnut washstand featuring a richly grained walnut frame, stunning bookmatched burled walnut drawer panels, and an elegant marble top with a matching backsplash and two raised marble shelves. Dating to the late 19th century, this charming piece showcases exceptional craftsmanship and distinctive Victorian era detailing.
The chest features three spacious drawers, each adorned with beautifully figured, bookmatched burled walnut panels framed by intricate geometric raised moldings. The symmetrical burl grain creates a striking visual effect, highlighting the natural beauty and character of the wood. Decorative brass and dark wood drop pulls, along with traditional keyhole escutcheons, further complement the ornate drawer fronts.
The solid walnut construction displays a warm, rich finish with beautiful natural grain throughout. Traditional dovetail drawer joinery, recessed paneled sides, and a substantial wooden frame reflect the quality craftsmanship of the period.
The gorgeous natural marble top features soft gray veining and warm, aged coloration. A gracefully curved marble backsplash rises above the surface, accompanied by two matching marble shelves originally intended for holding candles or grooming essentials. The combination of richly toned walnut and beautifully aged marble creates an elegant contrast that makes this piece especially distinctive.
Resting on small casters, this versatile chest offers both character and functionality. Perfect for use as a bedroom accent chest, antique washstand, entryway statement piece, or decorative storage cabinet, it complements Victorian, historic home, gothic, traditional home, English, collected or an eclectic interior.
