A charming antique Victorian parlor table featuring beautifully turned legs with spindle detailing, a decorative scalloped apron, and a practical two tier design. The continuous scalloped trim surrounding the tabletop gives the piece an especially distinctive silhouette, while shaped corner brackets and repeating geometric turnings along the legs add wonderful architectural detail.
The rectangular top is constructed from solid maple and finished with a molded edge, while a full width lower shelf provides additional space for displaying books, pottery, plants, collected decor or decorative accents.
Dating to the late 19th century, this table reflects the decorative furniture styles popular during the late Victorian period. Its relatively delicate proportions and ornamental details make it especially well suited as a parlor table, entryway table, side table, accent table, or small console.
This piece works beautifully in Victorian, English, Country, cottage, historic home, traditional, eclectic, and collected interiors, where its sculptural legs and scalloped detailing can stand out without overwhelming a room.
The table is in great antique condition with only minor signs of wear; minor scuffs/flaws, dark colored finish variation patch on the lower shelf, a separated panel in the tabletop has been repaired - see pics. A satin polyurethane topcoat has been applied throughout to protect and preserve the original finish.
