A stunning unique pair of antique Peruvian side tables features richly carved barley twist legs paired with hand-tooled leather tops, showcasing intricate Andean folk art scenes. Each top depicts traditional indigenous figures, llamas, mountains, cacti, and rustic dwellings in a detailed embossed style reminiscent of Inca and pre-Inca heritage. The tables are crafted with solid mahogany wood frames, one table includes a lower open shelf for storage or display. Large brass nailhead trim surrounds the tops and carved floral details appear on the aprons and stretchers. adding a classic decorative touch and reinforcing their old-world appeal. The artist signature is found below the bottom shelf. Circa 1920's.
The tables are in great antique condition with only minor signs of wear; minor faded finish on the lower shelf, minor age wear on the leather, minor nicks/scratches. A satin polyurethane has been applied to the wood bases to protect and preserve their original finish.
