A stunning antique marquetry inlaid folding table showcasing exquisite craftsmanship with a rich mahogany base. The tabletop features an intricate floral and foliate motif made from contrasting woods creating a striking decorative patter. The design includes scrolling acanthus leaves, flowers, birds, and a central Grecian urn. Circa 1780-1820.
The foldable design makes for a versatile piece of furniture; completely foldable for easy storage, swing one gate leg out for use as a decorative corner table, swing both gate legs out and unfold the tabletops for a foyer table, coffee table, large end table, or square accent table.
The table is in great antique condition with minor signs of wear consistent with age; minor discoloration at the corners on the corner tabletop, minor flaws in finish around one of the hinges on the inner extended table (noticeable toward the end of the video), some other minor flaws so please view all pictures careful and feel free to message me for extra pictures! Multiple coats of satin polycrylic topcoat have been applied to both table surfaces to preserve and protect the original finish and encapsulate the marquetry.
